One of the most common questions we receive from incoming trainees is, “What does an average day look like?” In this blog we will answer exactly that. Trainees at ADTC dive into a comprehensive program that seamlessly blends online adaptive learning, instructor-led lectures, and hands-on applications. Lasting 6 weeks, our intensive training equips aspiring technicians with the skills needed for a successful career in their chosen field (Diesel Mechanics, Truck Body Repair (Collision), HVAC Repair, PowerGen, or New Building Maintenance).

A Day in the Life of an ADTC Student: Nurturing New Skills for a Successful Career

In-Person Learning (7:00am - 9:30am)

As the sun rises, ADTC students arrive at the facility, ready to kick start their day. Clocking in from 6:30am – 7:00am, they ensure they have all the necessary safety equipment on hand. The next two and a half hours are dedicated to absorbing knowledge through expert-led lectures. In this focused period, students delve into the most crucial concepts that will serve as the foundation for the day's hands-on lab activities.

Morning Hands-On Labs (9:30am – 11:00am)

Transitioning from theory to practice, trainees engage in hands-on labs from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, putting into action what they've learned in the morning lectures. Guided by instructors, they repetitively perform tasks to solidify their understanding.

Lunch Break (11:00 am- 12:00 pm)

Following the labs, it's time for a well-deserved lunch break from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Once a week during this period, a representative from the sponsoring organization provides insights into career opportunities and advancement prospects, offering a valuable glimpse into the company and the industry as a whole.

Afternoon Hands-On Labs (12:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

Post-lunch, the focus shifts back to hands-on labs. From 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, students immerse themselves in practical applications, honing their skills under the watchful eye of experienced instructors. This part of the day ensures that the theoretical knowledge is deeply ingrained through real-world scenarios, preparing students for the challenges they may face in their future careers.

Evening Online Adaptive Learning (Evenings)

Once the on-site activities conclude, students return to their hotels, where the learning doesn't stop. Spending 1-2 hours each evening, they dive into online adaptive learning, tailored to their pace and knowledge levels. This digital component serves as a bridge between the day's lessons and the upcoming ones, reinforcing key concepts and preparing students for the next day's lectures and labs.

Culmination and Certification (Final Week)

After 6 weeks of intensive training, students face a final exam during their last week, a test that evaluates their grasp of the entire program. Successful completion awards them an additional certification, adding to their credentials. Upon the program's conclusion, all students receive a certificate of completion, signifying their readiness to step into their new career field.

ADTC’s paid training programs offer a holistic and immersive learning experience, combining traditional lectures, hands-on labs, and adaptive online learning to shape the technicians of tomorrow. As students return to their hometowns armed with knowledge, skills, and certifications, they are not just graduates; they are well-prepared individuals ready to make their mark in their chosen career paths.
